This came in today from Twitter/X. Many of the so called “Secure Messengers” can be compromised in a variety of ways, including delivering a message with spyware to track your exact location in real time.
The assassination of the Hamas official in Iran was targeted using Whatsapp, according to this source. I’m not telling you this person deserved what happened or not, only that your cell phone or other electronic device is tracked and could have deadly consequences if someone wanted you dead.
***If you have noticed emails and phone calls “go missing” lately, you are not alone. Shadowbans, de-platforming and Censorship has reached previously unseen levels. There’s no privacy anywhere. That’s why I got together with some trusted friends and tech experts to create privateLINE. It’s a secure messenger for text and calling inside a private network and easy enough for a computer novice. I’ll be backing up all my content inside this private network and making it available to my readers inside a private enclave free from tracking and censorship with some added bonus materials. You can also contact me directly once inside, search for “chris:imnode01”. Go HERE to get your free account, then we can chat inside privateLINE. Use affiliate code DECODE and you can get access to my private documents (when that becomes available) and future discounts. *** (note we are not shilling our service, we didn’t want to have to build it…keep reading about Telegram, then read up on Signal and the others - the privacy policy and Terms agreements tell you what you need to know)
You might not be a “terrorist”, but keep in mind how these technologies can work to track you. Once this tech makes it to criminal gangs it could be used to track you and enable criminals to commit crimes against you.
Whatsapp has over 2 billion users and is owned by Meta, fka “Facebook”.
From Elijah J. Magnier (@ejmalrai):
#Israel's Use of Spying Software to Target #Hamas Leader Ismail Haniyeh: Israel reportedly planted sophisticated spyware through a WhatsApp message sent to Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh. This software allowed Israeli intelligence to localize his exact position within his apartment. Subsequently, Haniyeh was assassinated following a conversation he had with his son, during which his location was pinpointed. The spyware in question is believed to be similar to the notorious Pegasus software developed by the Israeli cyber-intelligence firm NSO Group. Pegasus has the capability to infiltrate smartphones, allowing the operator to access messages, photos, and location data, and even control the phone’s camera and microphone without the user's knowledge. Such advanced technology enables real-time surveillance and precise targeting, making it an invaluable tool for intelligence operations. The successful use of this spyware highlights the ongoing cyber warfare tactics employed in modern conflicts, showcasing how digital tools are increasingly pivotal in gathering intelligence and executing targeted strikes. Ismail Haniyeh's assassination underscores the effectiveness of these methods and the lengths to which state actors will go to neutralize perceived threats. This incident also raises significant concerns about privacy and the potential misuse of such powerful surveillance tools for illegal activities and assassinations.
Israel has this tech and you should assume that all major state spycraft orgs do as well. Criminal gangs can likely get their hands on these technologies, as well.
Be very careful around all electronics. Trackers, cameras and microphones come as standard equipment. Some apps are terrible at keeping your data private. Here’s a comparison, based on privacy ratings of :
As you can see, Whatsapp is the worst of these privacy messengers. privateLINE.io does best and Signal is also very good. This data is from the Apple App store.
Choose carefully when you use an app. There are potentially consequences to being tracked. Personal privacy with your personal electronics is at stake and as we saw today, it could even cost your life!
Signal Messenger for the win.
AND, even so, only ever transmit stuff you'd be fine with the fed reading.
Save the important details for IRL.
Leading up to the revolutionary war, we met in taverns, churches and the town squares and plotted. And, leave those dumb phones at home when you go! Or a faraday bag.
So glad I have no phone, nor use that app! But thank You for all the Ones who are yet unaware!
